Known as the father of Red Dirt music, Bob Childers shared the stage with the likes of Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger. Since Childers? passing in 2008, Oklahoma has been left with a musical void that can never be filled, but the rootsy, gusty, folky, Americana of Bob Childers can still be heard whenever old friends and local and regional acts recreate his memorable and beloved songs. In 2004, over 50 performers covered Childers? music on Restless Spirits: A Tribute to the Songs of Bob Childers, and some of them will be playing them at this special, one night only event in memory of Bob Childers.
