The protagonist of the tense 1934 crime drama Midnight is Edward Weldon, a juror who has voted in favor of capital punishment for a female murderer. Shortly after the woman is sentenced, Weldon finds himself facing a moral conundrum when his own daughter confesses to the murder of her boyfriend.
