Bring your friends and come celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day by participating in the 5th Annual Lake Overholser/Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge Clean-Up on Saturday, April 24th beginning at 8:30a.m.!
We will be meeting at the Lake Overholser Pavilion which is located around N.W. 14th and E. Overholser Drive. After the clean-up, BBQ from Earl?s Rib Palace and hamburgers from the Cimarron Steak House will be available. Pepsi will be providing beverages.
As in previous years, we hope to have items to raffle off. If you would like to donate something for the raffle, please contact us below.
This is a great scout activity for those of you who are scout leaders. The clean-up is a qualifying activity for the Girl Scout?s Water Drop Patch Project [http://www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/html/].
This clean-up is also a great activity for biology and other school groups. There is information for teachers about watersheds at: http://www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/watershedpatch.pdf
This clean-up is part of the Great American Clean-Up (sponsored by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful), Litter Blitz (sponsored by the City of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City Beautiful, and DEQ), the Oklahoma Trash-Off (sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for clean-up of part of historic Route 66) and the National River Clean-Up (sponsored by American Rivers for clean-up along the North Canadian River in Stinchcomb).
Please let contact know if you are planning on participating so I can make sure we have enough food and beverages.
