GOVERNOR KEATING NAMES WYNN AS NEW PITTSBURG/HASKELL COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Oklahoma City - Governor Frank Keating Tuesday named Donnita W. Wynn of McAlester as the new District Attorney for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties. Wynn, 37, is currently an Assistant District Attorney in Pittsburg County. She succeeds Don Roberts who will resign August 1, 1995.

"Due to the recent events involving the Ryan Luke case I felt it was important to act quickly on Mr. Roberts resignation and name his successor. The grand jury in this case has complete confidence in Donnita's abilities as do I. She is highly recommended and will do an excellent job in restoring credibility and confidence to the District Attorney's office," Governor Keating said.

Prior to joining the DA's office in Pittsburg County in January of 1994, Wynn was in private practice in McAlester. From 1986 to 1992 she served as Vice President and Manager of Land Development for Weinkauf Petroleum, Inc.

Wynn is a member of the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Pittsburg County Bar Association. She is active in numerous other civic and charity organizations in McAlester and Tulsa.

Wynn holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa.
