Mr. Wilson was appointed Executive Director for the Office of Juvenile Affairs for the State of Oklahoma by their Board of Directors on August 24, 2012.  Mr. Wilson assumed responsibility on August 31, 2012 following a retirement of just over one year.  The Executive Director is responsible for supervision of more than 700 employees, relationship with more than 50 contractors and two juvenile institutions.

Prior to being appointed as Executive Director, Mr. Wilson worked as a Public Defender out of Woodward, Oklahoma.   In that capacity he represented both adults and juveniles.  While working as a Public Defender, Mr. Wilson represented clients in Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Major, Texas, Woodward and Woods Counties.

Prior to working as a Public Defender, Mr. Wilson served four terms as a District Judge in Kansas.  First elected in 1988, he was sworn in on January 10, 1989, and served until January 9, 2005.  At the beginning of his second term as District Judge, Judge Wilson was appointed Chief Judge of the 26th Judicial District of Kansas by the Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court.  The appointment was for a term of two years and was renewed every two years until his retirement in 2005.  While serving as District Judge, Judge Wilson carried a full caseload as well as fulfilling his duties as Chief Judge.  The duties of Chief Judge included assigning the caseload for all judges in the district, receiving and implementing directives from the Supreme Court and the Office of Judicial Administration, hiring and supervising the Court Clerks and hiring and supervising the Probation Officers.

Prior to being elected as District Judge, Mr. Wilson was a partner in the Liberal , Kansas, Law Firm of Vance, Hobble, Neubauer, Nordling, Sharp and McQueen, P.A..  While in private practice, Mr. Wilson worked both in Kansas and Oklahoma handling a variety of cases in many areas of the law.  

Mr. Wilson holds a B.A. in Education from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law.
