ODOL Homepage / Administrative Staff / Mark Costello, Commissioner of Labor
Mark Costello

Mark Costello became Oklahoma’s Commissioner of Labor on January 10, 2011.

Mark is an experienced business man.  He founded AMCAT, a telephone software company in 1984, employing over 100 employees and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue until it was sold in 2007.  Since selling AMCAT, Mark has founded several technology companies.  He has taken a sabbatical from his businesses to be an active Labor Commissioner.

He has kept his promises to bring a business approach to managing the Labor Department and to date has saved well over $500,000 in tax dollars while increasing efficiency, even turning back a portion of his own salary and using his personal vehicle rather than the allowed state car.  He will continue to utilize his private sector business experience to deploy existing resources to better aid Oklahoma job producers.

Mark is a fourth generation Oklahoman born in Bartlesville.  Mark has been married to Cathy for 30 years; together they are raising their 5 children in Edmond, Oklahoma.
