Contract Compliance
Unallowable Costs
OCAST contracts do not allow for the payment of indirect costs; all costs charged to an OCAST contract must be directly related to the research. A non-exhaustive list of unallowable costs can be downloaded by clicking this link.
Post Award Information
If your research project has been awarded funding through an OCAST program, you will receive an award letter, the approved annual budgets, and a few other documents, depending on the program, that need to be signed and returned to OCAST before the first-year contract can be executed. All required post-award documents and signatures must be returned to OCAST within 60 days of notice of award or an offer of award will be rescinded.
Contract Compliance Audits
It is OCAST policy to perform audits of contracts executed by the agency for all funded programs. Audits are conducted following the federal guidelines of generally accepted Government Auditing Standards.
The purpose of the audit process is to demonstrate good stewardship of taxpayer dollars, to ensure the appropriate use of contract funds.
