The Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology October 18 was recognized at the 35th Annual Public Relations Society of America – Oklahoma City UpperCase Awards ceremony at Cole’s Garden, Oklahoma City.
OCAST received the UpperCase award, highest in its category, for last year’s Impact Report, an annual report that highlights the agency’s accomplishments by funding research and development with the state’s top scientists.
Oklahoma City’s PRSA Chapter each year recognizes the work, creativity and success of the state’s public relations professionals. Anglin Public Relations and S Design Inc. also were recognized for their work on the OCAST Impact Report. Steve Paris and Debbie Cox of the OCAST staff accepted the award on behalf of Anglin PR, S. Design and OCAST.
“Recognition by PRSA of our agency team and our contractors, Anglin PR and S. Design, validates the creativity and hard work it takes to communicate OCAST’s success in accomplishing its mission,” said Michael Carolina, executive director of OCAST.
“We are completing our 25th year since OCAST came to be out of legislation that followed on the heels of a severe economic downturn in Oklahoma in the 1980s. OCAST is the state’s technology-based economic development arm and has funded in-state research projects that continue in the creation of wealth for Oklahoma,” said Carolina.
In previous years, OCAST has been recognized alongside Anglin PR and S. Design by PRSA for other works including radio and television script writing and public relations materials.
