OCAST schedules small business workshops at OU
OCAST is issuing a reminder there is still time to register for the SBIR/STTR Phase I Boot Camp and the Cost Accounting Workshop scheduled July 28 and 29 at the Stephenson Research and Technology Center, 101 David L. Boren Blvd., Norman.
OCAST is the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology, the state’s technology-based economic development agency. The Norman Economic Development Coalition is co-sponsor of the event.
Both workshop sessions are free and are designed to help Oklahomans access the federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs. The federal programs involve 11 federal agencies directed by Congress to dedicate 2.5 percent of their federal funding for SBIR/STTR research. Through OCAST, Oklahomans receive assistance in the application process. Some Oklahoma firms have won in excess of $1 million in follow-on stages of the process.
The Phase I Proposal Development “Boot Camp” is scheduled July 28 and the Government Cost Accounting Workshop is slated for July 29. Instructors are Jim and Gail Greenwood, a team who has conducted SBIR training in 46 states since 1983. The Greenwoods in 1996 won the U.S. Small Business Administration Tibbetts Award.
To register for these free workshop sessions, go to www.ocast.ok.gov or contact Sherry, client services manager, 405-319-8418, or toll free, 866-265-2215.
