Governor Fallin signs into law House Bill 1888, authored by Rep. Pam Peterson and Senator Clark Jolley, and Senate Bill 547, by Senator Anthony Sykes and Rep. Dennis Jordan. HB 1888 bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The bill exempts situations in which the life of the mother is at risk or when the mother faces serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment.
SB 547 ensures standard health insurance policies sold in Oklahoma or sold through a state health insurance exchange do not include elective abortion coverage.

Governor Fallin is joined by lawmakers during a press conference on two pro-life measures the governor signed into law.
