The Oklahoma Clean Energy Independence Commission was created as a result of Senate Bill 953. Enacted in 2009, the purpose of the Commission is to assist the state and the nation in an effort to achieve a goal of clean energy independence within the next five years.
The Commission is chaired by the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Commissioners are appointed by the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House.
