Boosting Oklahoma Oil Production with Next Generation Surfactant Technology

The University of Oklahoma

Project Focus:

This project will use new chemical flooding technology from laboratories of the University of Oklahoma, based on self-assembling, nano-structured surfactant membranes at the oil/water surface, to increase recovery from marginal oil wells, enabling recovery of the 20% of the remaining oil still in place. This proposal was submitted jointly by Jeffery H. Harwell, ConocoPhillips Professor of Chemical Engineering at The University of Oklahoma in Norman and Randy Olmstead, President and CEO, Mid-Con Energy and its operating subsidiary, RDT Properties in Tulsa.
