The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center (UDETC) are pleased to launch the first in a series of on-line distance learning courses. These courses aim to provide law enforcement and community organizations with valuable, no-cost training that focuses on the reduction of underage access to alcohol. The first course in this series is “Conducting Compliance Check Operations” and will be available as of December 1, 2010.
This four-hour online course is designed as a basic-level familiarization to compliance check operations and a foundation for follow-up on-site training provided by UDETC. The course provides basic guidelines and operational information on reducing sales of alcohol to underage purchasers through compliance investigations of alcohol retailers. It
presents rationales for carrying out these investigations and emphasizes the importance of reducing youth access to alcohol thereby reducing youth related crime in the community and improving the quality of life.
