CLEET Distance Learning Continuing Education

The following Continuing Education courses will be offered at the specified locations. Classes are accredited by CLEET for continuing education credit purposes only.  The curriculum of the class is the responsibility of the presenter, and is not generally subject to review or approval by CLEET, unless the class is presented by CLEET employees.   

Any questions about the class should be directed to the presenter.  

CLEET Rule 390:25-1-8 provides:  "Regarding any law enforcement concepts, practices, methods, techniques, products, or devices as might be taught, promoted, or otherwise espoused in outside schools or seminars, there is no intent, expressed or implied, that 'accreditation' indicates or in any way conveys 'CLEET approval' of such concepts, practices,
methods, techniques, products, or devices, unless such approval is explicitly stated by CLEET."

Description: Information Collection on Patrol (InCOP) 1 is a three hour course covering effective information collection, The 2-Minute Interview, Hypervigilance on Patrol, the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Initiative, and the role of the fusion centers and the reporting process. Also included are the special problems of terrorism, the issues of criminal enterprise investigations, and an introduction to the Terrorist Screening Center.

InCOP 2 is a two hour course that builds upon the techniques of effective collection and the 2-Minute Interview to help line officers engage the skills of identifying and developing sources of information within their areas of assignment.

School Lockdown Essentials

Description: Every school has a basic lockdown plan, but many do not think about the implementation. In this one-day training, two SROs who have experienced a lockdown after a shooting will share what they learned from this event. Some of the many topics we will cover include: 
• Lockdown basics – what every plan should include 
• GO Bags – what every classroom should have and what is in it 
• Shelter in Place vs. Lockdown – two ways to secure your school 
• Red/green cards – should you use them? 
• Students with cell phones – how they can actually help

Police Bike Patrol School 

Description: Oklahoma State University Police Department will be hosting a Bike Patrol School for Police Officers. (24 hours of CLEET credit) Officers will need a Police Mountain Bike equipped with headlight, taillight, whistle, helmet and appropriate riding clothes for all weather conditions. Officers will receive a certificate for police bike patrol training. Officers should arrive early to unload their equipment and be ready at 8:00 A.M. to start class.
