Oklahoma Tax Extension Deadline Passed on October 15: Pay On Time, Pay Online The online service, provided by the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC), enables taxpayers to securely pay a number of taxes online, including: • Individual Income Tax “More Oklahomans have turned to paying their accounts online,” said Paula Ross, Oklahoma Tax Commission spokesperson. “The online payment system is a quick and convenient way to ensure payments are received by our agency in a timely manner while giving the taxpayer peace of mind in knowing that their confidential information is kept secure.” OTC currently accepts payments via credit card over the Internet or by telephone. Accepted payments include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and debit card payments. The payments are processed through a secure payment engine, which applies rigorous policies and procedures to ensure that citizens and businesses can be confident that their payments are safe, private, and secure. OTC’s online payment options are a product of a partnership between the Oklahoma Tax Commission and OK.gov, Oklahoma’s Official Web site.
The Oklahoma Geological Survey Announces Newly Redesigned Web Site The new Oklahoma Geological Survey’s Web site contains maps, publications and other information for teachers and scout groups, civic groups, the oil and gas industry, regional and city planners, hunters and fishing enthusiasts, and all others who work with or enjoy Oklahoma’s geology. The Oklahoma Geological Survey has arranged their Web site information in a more logical way and gives visitors options and links that will make it easier to locate the pages visitors want. OGS hopes visitors find their site easier to use and visually pleasing. The OGS was one of the very first three state Surveys to have a Web site, and OGS is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead to provide visitors with more information about Oklahoma geology. The main pages linked to the tabs take visitors to links and explanations about specific material in that subject area. Sometimes these pages also link to other sections that contain related information. OGS thinks these changes will make the site more user-friendly and efficient in anticipation of new material OGS will add during the coming year. OGS plans to add many more publications and maps for visitors to download, as well as other projects which are in the works. OGS asks that visitors contact them with any suggestions and comments.
A new web portal launched recently by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), celebrates Energy Awareness Month with the most comprehensive energy education resource available from the U.S. Government. The site explains where gasoline comes from, what determines the price of electricity, how much renewable energy the United States uses, and hundreds of other energy topics. "Energy touches us in many ways every day, from the electricity that lights our homes to the fuel we use in our cars," said EIA Administrator Richard Newell. "Energy Explained uses plain language and clear graphics to help explain a sometimes complex, but vital subject." Energy Explained allows easy navigation between major energy topics:
Energy Explained includes a "rate this page" feature so visitors can easily give EIA feedback on any page. |
