2009 Withholding Tables and 2008 Income Tax Forms Now Available Online The Oklahoma Tax Commission has released the 2008 income tax forms and packets on the agency's Web site. These forms will be needed for filing in the coming months. In addition to releasing the income tax forms on the site, the Oklahoma Tax Commission has also built all of the income tax forms for 2008 using a “fill-in” format that allows the taxpayer to input information directly onto the form prior to printing it out. The 2009 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables were also recently released on the Tax Commission's Web site.
SAFE-CALL: Helpline Developed to Maintain Safety in Oklahoma Schools SAFE-CALL, supported through the Oklahoma State Department of Education, is a toll-free confidential hotline for students, parents, teachers, neighbors and anyone concerned about the safety of their local school. This Helpline has been developed to help maintain safety and the most positive school environment possible. The purpose of SAFE-CALL is to promote school safety and report wrong doings or illegal activity. Reports are received by Security Voice, an independent service provider to insure that individuals will remain anonymous. Security Voice is an independent entity which is not part of Oklahoma schools. Although reports will be sent to the corresponding school superintendent, no one from that school will receive an actual email address. The system will ask individuals to disclose the information that school officials should know. In order to take action, the school must have a factual basis for doing so. Therefore, individuals must provide specific facts. Please note that prank reports will not be tolerated and may be investigated. When a school receives a report, they may have further questions. If they do, they will supply those questions in their response to Security Voice and the system sends them to the individual via the email address supplied.
Online Benefits Administration System Online Enrollment Jumps to Record Efficiency got a big boost from Oklahoma’s state employees this fall. Nearly three out of every four active state employees made their benefits choices online during the most recent Option Period. According to calculations from the Employees Benefits Council, 26,965 employees used the online Benefits Administration System to make their selections for 2009. That’s 72.7 percent of active state employees and a 7 percent increase over last year. “Enhancing participation in online enrollment is a high priority for us as the State’s Benefits Office,” Executive Director Philip Kraft said. “We’ve seen good, steady growth every year since online enrollment started in 2003, and this seven-percent jump is better than expected. We’re looking forward to even more participation next year.” The Option Period for Plan Year 2009 was open from October 6 to November 3, 2008. State employees were able to change, modify or maintain coverage choices in health, dental and vision plans, as well as life insurance for themselves and their families. Employees also had opportunities to participate in health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, a new mass transportation account, the OK Health wellness program and SoonerSave retirement plans. Immediate feedback about the online enrollment through surveys at the end of the process was more positive than ever:
